Repairs Policy
1. DATA LOSS PREVENTION
Consoles brought in for repair may be required to be restored back to original factory settings, may require hard drive replacement, or may be required to be formatted. Cyber Skoobz is not liable for data loss of any kind, and it is the sole responsibility of the client to backup any data they do not wish to lose.
2. QUOTES, DEPOSITS, AND FEES
2.1. All items brought in for repair will require an assessment to take place by our professional technicians. An assessment fee of R250 is payable in full upfront to determine the fault of the item. The assessment may take up to 30 days to complete dependent on various factors beyond Cyber Skoobz’ control.
2.2. Once the assessment has taken place, a quote will be provided to the client. This quote will be valid for seven (7) days. Failure to accept or reject the quote within the period will result in an automatic rejection of the quote.
2.3. The assessment fee is included in all quotes. Therefore, the amount payable upon acceptance of any
quote will be the amount quoted minus the assessment fee which was paid for upfront.
2.4. Payment for the repair needs to be completed in full for us to release the item to the client. If the client performs an electronic transfer payment (EFT), please allow for up to 48 hours for the payment to clear in Cyber Skoobz bank account prior to collection of the item.
3. OUR WARRANTY
3.1. We use only high-quality parts in all repairs undertaken by highly qualified technicians. We will give you a three (3) month warranty on our replacement parts and workmanship from the date of repair for:
3.2. Our warranty will be voided if the device is opened or tampered with, or if it is damaged after we have repaired it. Device damage that will void the warranty includes dents, cracks, burns, scratches, liquid damage, viruses, and malware.
3.3. Our warranty is part of the agreement we have with you, and you cannot transfer it to someone else by, for instance, selling the device.
4. WHERE OUR RESPONSIBILITY

4.1. We take great care when we repair a device, but devices are delicate, and opening them up may cause additional damage, or may reveal damage that you were not aware of. When you entrust your device to us you do so at your own risk. You cannot hold us responsible for:
4.1.1. Any data loss (see point 1 above)
4.1.2. Further damage to the device or further loss of functionality when we inspect the already damaged device, open it, or remove any components inside which is required to be undertaken when assessing the device.
4.1.3. Further damage to the device or further loss of functionality when we are repairing the device.
4.1.4. Not being able to source replacement parts.
4.1.5. Not being able to repair your device.
Some devices cannot be repaired. We will let you know if it is time to let go.
4.2. We may not be able to return your original damaged or faulty device components to you, because it is hazardous to store these components.
5. COLLECTING YOUR DEVICE
5.1. Cyber Skoobz will advise you when the device is ready for collection. You must pay and collect the device within 90 days once Cyber Skoobz has advised that the device is ready for collection. Cyber Skoobz reserves the right to sell the device after this period has lapsed to recover our expenses. This includes devices where repairs have been accepted and have been paid for in full.
5.2. You must present a valid Cyber Skoobz job card and personal identification such as your ID, to collect your device.
